Nissan offers a limited warranty on Certified Pre-Owned vehicles for 7 years or 100,000 miles, whichever occurs first. The warranty covers more than 600 components and is similar to the powertrain warranty and covers the engine, transmission and drivetrain, as well as some additional parts.
If a covered part related to one of these parts fails or is damaged during the warranty period, it can be repaired or replaced by your Nissan dealer. However, you will need to pay a $100 deductible before repairs can be made.
The warranty period starts from the date the vehicle is used, so if you buy a three-year-old CPO Nissan, you will only have four years of warranty remaining. If you sell your CPO Nissan before the warranty expires, the warranty is transferred to the new owner.
All-electric vehicles participating in the Nissan CPO program also come with a 7-year/100,000-mile warranty. The coverage is slightly different and includes components of electric drive systems (of course, electric vehicles do not have internal combustion engines).

Nissan’s CPO warranty coverage may require drivers to provide more protection than other manufacturers’ CPO warranties. In addition to the deductible, coverage only applies to powertrain components. Most CPO warranties include at least one year of comprehensive service in addition to the original factory warranty.
For example, Toyota offers an additional 1 year/12,000 mile warranty on Gold certified vehicles. Honda also offers a 1-year/12,000-mile or 2-year/50,000-mile bumper-to-bumper warranty, depending on the condition and age of the CPO vehicle. This is in addition to Honda’s remaining 3-year/36,000-mile factory limited warranty upon purchase of the vehicle.
Vehicles with less than 80,000 miles on the odometer and less than 6 years old from the date of original use are eligible for the Nissan CPO program. Every Nissan Certified Pre-Owned vehicle must first pass a 167-point inspection and have a clean Carfax vehicle history report (meaning no loss or total loss).
Nissan vehicles certified for electric vehicles undergo a 139-point inspection. This may be due to the fact that electric vehicles have fewer moving parts, rather than less thorough inspection. For example, there is no need to check the engine oil.

If you want to extend the warranty on your Nissan Certified Pre-Owned vehicle, you can purchase a Nissan Extended Warranty, formally known as the Nissan Security+Plus Extended Protection Plan. CPO vehicles are eligible for the Security+Plus Certified Pre-Owned Vehicle package’s extended protection program.
This Vehicle Service Agreement (VSC)** is in addition to the Nissan Certified Pre-Owned Warranty. It includes comprehensive coverage over 1,650 parts (same as a factory bumper-to-bumper warranty) and excludes deductibles. The warranty covers up to 8 years and 120,000 miles, or the same 7 years as a regular CPO warranty but with unlimited mileage – all from the date of your Nissan’s original use.
