Keller Marine & RV to Offer Plug-and-Play Soft Starters

Keller Marine & RV will offer SoftStartUp premium AC soft starters to RV dealers through its locations from Maine to Florida.
Keller Marine & RV President Mike Keller said the innovative SoftStartUSA soft starter will be available at the upcoming annual Keller Marine & RV Show, November 4-5 at the Sheraton Sand Key Resort in Clearwater, Fla. It is sold through a network of nearly 3,000 dealers.
The new SoftStartUp device allows RV owners to start up to two air conditioners when connected to 50 or 30 amp shore power.
Keller said this SoftStartUp technology is very different from previous AC soft starters. “Most AC soft starters today have to be mounted directly to the AC unit,” Keller said. “That requires climbing into the van, turning on the AC, wiring it up, and then putting it back together, whereas this SoftStartUp technology is a plug-and-play solution that requires no installation.”
”With the new SoftStartUp product, you simply plug it into shore power or a generator and it starts working right away,” said Doug Curtis, co-founder of SoftStartUSA. “It’s the easiest, simplest way for RV owners to enjoy more air-conditioned comfort. The most efficient way, with no tripping or installation required.”
Additionally, this year’s Keller Show keynote speaker will be Mike Sokol, an expert with over 25 years of experience in the RV electrical industry known as “Mr. RV Electrical.” Mike Sokol will be on hand to answer dealer questions about air conditioners, surge protectors, lithium batteries, and other electrical equipment.
The new SoftStartUp product is suitable for RVs equipped with a 50 amp power center. For connection to a 30 amp circuit, a dog bone adapter is available separately from your Keller Marine & RV dealer.
RV owners simply plug their RV into SoftStartUp. If your RV uses a surge protector as its camping power source, SoftStartUp will connect the surge protector to maximize your RV’s energy efficiency and protection.
Because SoftStartUp reduces starting current by 50% on all “hard start” appliances (e.g. air conditioners, refrigerators, microwaves, etc.), your RV’s main power will not be cut off when these appliances start while others are running. Water heaters, coffee makers, lights, and entertainment centers will continue to operate thanks to SoftStartUp’s technological advances.
SoftStartUp soft starters improve basic energy efficiency in off-grid applications using limited power sources such as 2200 watt generators. By reducing AC starting current, it frees up energy for use in other critical appliances such as refrigerators or medical equipment while keeping the air conditioner running.
